The history of wine making on the South of Russia

Vineyards and wine making on the South of Russia has ancient roots. They are connected  with the appearance of Greek settlements on the territories near Black and Azov seas  inhabited by people with local aborigen culture of vine growing and methods of wine  making. It is traditionally called "Abkhazian and Adigejan" culture.
Caucasus and Southern Black sea areas of the modern Krasnodarskii krai are  the original  motherlands of vine culture itself. There are Biblical evidences about it. As  it is well known  after the end of the Flood Noi founded his settlement on Ararat mountains.  " ... and Noi  started to plough the earth and grow vine. And he drank some wine and got  drunk".
If the appearance of the vine on the territory of the Northern Black sea coast and  Southern  Azov sea coast can be refered to 4th and 5th centuries B.C., the appearance of  local  aborigen sorts of vine and techniques of its lian culture (growing vine as a lian  woven in  the  trees) has no exact data.
Abundant Caucasus flora gave to the human kind many types of contemporary cultural  plants including vine. There is an opinion that Caucasus vine was not brought from  somewhere else but grew in its natural state on Caucasus from ancient times.  Currently it is  known for sure that Caucasus is the motherland of three types of vine.
