The history of wine making on the South of Russia
The
modern state of wine making in Kuban.
The
natural conditions of Krasnodarskii krai allow to receive various
types of wine production. Nevertheless they are more efficient
for the production of dry wines, mainly the white ones.
The red wines are being produced less than the white wines.
Currently
there are approximately 90 vine and wine making enterprises in Kuban.
We may point out 2 famous wine plants which have their
own specialised wine - cellars.
1.
champagne wine "Abrau-Durso" plant.
Founded in 1870. Nowadays it produces classical champagne
in a traditional bottled way.
2. "Sauk-Dere"
wine plant which is the owner of "Rosglavvino"
collection and stores in its wine - cellars more than
70% of assortment of all alcohol drinks produced in USSR from
1952. Besides the plant produces the best dry white collectional
wines in Russia.
All other wine
plants also produce wines of excellent quality but they are not so
popular beyond the regions of Russia.
Krasnodarskii krai
is the southern region of modern Russia.
Kuban
is the North - Eastern part of Krasnodarskii krai.
