The main sorts of grapes which are being grown on Kuban for wine production.

     Rkatsiteli. Translated from Georgian language the word means "red vine". Madeira and  Sherry are easily produced from Rkatsiteli wine materials. Even though wines from  Rkatsiteli are sufficiently fragrant they are not harmonic enough. Nevertheless when the  technology of production follows all requirements it is possible to produce quiet harmonic  and moderately vinegar wines with well expressed qualities of this sort. one of the examples  is "Rkatsiteli Tamani" (The wine company "Mirnii").
    Saperavi. It is a Georgian sort which received its name from the word "saperavi" which  means the one who colours. There are many elements in its berries which give colour.  Differently to most of the red sorts, even its pulp is colored in pink. Dessert and strong  wines and wine materials for red sparkling wine are being produced from this sort. The  peculiarity of wines from this sort of grape is the tone of cream which develops when the  wine is getting matured. Pure wines from Saperavi when they are young are not very soft.  But getting ripened gradually the wine becomes more and more tasty (this process can last  from 4 to 30 years). Such wine lives more than 50 years.
    Silvaner. This is sort is mainly used for preparing white wines and champagne. The  motherland of Silvaner is Austria. It is used in Krasnodarskii krai for producing strong,  cognac and champagne wine materials.
